My party had a very rewarding experience. The squid appetizers were delicious and not at all like the deep fried calamari one is used to. The gazpacho and salads were refreshingly delicious and were of generous portions. There was one drawback: the "big plates" were supposed to be for sharing. Well...just barely. Nevertheless the service was excellent and made the entire evening a festive and celebratory event. I will definitely return.

What a wonderful experience! We went here on a double date with a couple that was just celebrating their one year anniversary and Sfoglina went over the top for us in terms of hospitality. I was shocked that such a buzzy gem was tucked away in NW DC. The décor is really impressive, they have awesome booth seating with visibility to nearly the entire restaurant. The food is incredible and can be shared family style. Would highly recommend the prosciutto appetizer, the 72-hour short rib and the black truffle pasta. Thank you to Sfoglina and especially the manager, David, for making our meal such a great one!

Great Ambiance, nice decor. Service was good, however we found ourselves constantly asking for water refills. Bread for the table was quite cold, however the salads are excellent. Main entrees were far too salty (all five of us noted that) and small in portion size. I personally equate salty food with poorly prepared dishes, it overwhelms the flavors and is a sign of using cheap ingredients, not expected in a rated restaurant. The Manager asked us how our meals were and I commented on the heavy salt, he brought us a complimentary bottle of desert wine for the table which was a very nice gesture. With tip (and two bottles of Chianti) our bill was $ 470 for five of us. Was the heavy-salt a fluke? Could be....not likely to rush back due to cost and parking difficulty.

Excellent service! Perhaps it was our early timing (around 6PM). The food is delicious with a good selection of Italian wines to match. The strategy seems to focus on a limited menu which touches a broad range of tastes. This would likely help the kitchen focus on the quality of the dishes. Reservations are recommended.

Beautiful restaurant with top quality food. Unfortunately upper Connecticut Ave has little parking and there is no valet service. We had the calamari and the prosciutto small plates. Both generous options for the price. We also shared a pasta ( can substitute for the gnocchi) with the mushroom sauce. Billed as wild mushrooms they were mild in flavor and the pasta although very well made was barely three ounces. For $25 that seemed steep. Dessert coffee cake was dry. Would love to see Italian mini pastries on the menu. Will come back in another season to see how the menu changed
