Good food and service in quaint Virginia town
I go to this restaurant Every chance I get, they have the best down home cooking ever!! The chef salads can feed two ppl and they def don't slack on the meat and cheese toppings! I usually get the crab cake platter or the Ruben sandwich platter, these 3 items are well worth what u pay for I absolutely love their food and the wait staff are extremely nice and make u feel right at home in their country setting!
BUT, the restrooms were filthy!
It's a sweet little country diner where you rub elbows with a cross section if the county. Farmers and lawyers, weekenders from the city and folks whose families have lived there since the American Revolution. Bold faced names and mechanics. Food is diner fare--sandwiches, fried shrimp platters, burgers. Great desserts, like cobblers and mile high layer cakes. Iced tea, sweet or unsweet. The owner is the cook and will come out of the kitchen to see how you liked a new special. This is a sincere place with friendly country manners.
The blackberry cobbler ala mode was top notch. It even came warm. I can't wait to visit this place again.
