My husband and I are in DC doing contract work. We had the opportunity to dine at 801 last evening. I had the flash fried crispy shrimp with carrots, green beans and asiago risotto. It was delicious. One of the best meals I have had at a restaurant. The price was very reasonable and the atmosphere was quiet and cozy. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was good but the portions were small. The bottomless mimosas were definitely worth the money and you get to make them yourself!! They bring a bottle of champagne to the table and 4 different types of juices drink up!
service was quick and food was amazing I had the crabcake sandwich with fries! all crabmeat and fries were fresh and savory. cute last minute spot or planned dinner.
Brunch here was THE BEST! Back in town visiting, and friends brought me here for a fun-day. The bottomless mimosas are amazing...decent bubbly, brought out by the bottle, with several fresh juice mixers (we had white peach puree, oj, grapefruit, and strawberry puree). Food was tasty, and service was great! Out server made sure "bottomless" was not and empty promise:) Reserve ahead for brunch, especially larger parties.
One of my favorite brunch spots! Build your own mimosas...how can you go wrong with that! They bring 4 fresh juices and a bottle of champagne, which is of course bottomless. The menu also offers a little bit of everything, from crepes--to a veggie omelette--to avocado breakfast toast, which are all delicious. Definitely the brunch spot to try in DC if you're looking for variety and have a flavorful palette.
