We enjoyed several meals at Kingbird during our stay at the Watergate, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All were fantastic. We also dined at 1789 & Blue Duck. The Kingbird trumped them all. At Kingbird, I personally tried 6 dinner entrees and a couple apps, and all were off tthe charts scrumptious. Our discerning party of 8 were all delighted. The cost is high, and portions very small, but the food was worth it. This review does not carry on to the rooftop bar which was a huge disappointment.
After my wife and I amazing stay at the Watergate. We went down stair to try out Kingbird for breakfast. Awesome we had the eggs, sausage, etc. The orange juice is to died for. The waffles was a combination of perfection mixed with angles plus syrup.
I cannot praise Kingbird highly enough. My husband and I have spent many a delightful evening here, the staff is incredibly friendly, I’ve never had service like this before! The food is delicious, and there’s definitely some unique items on the menu. Great for a night out, or pre Kennedy Center meal! Stop by the rooftop on your way out for a cocktail!
Had dinner here Saturday night, and the halibut and lamb were delicious! Peggy, our waitress provided great wine recommendations and was really helpful in getting us to our show at the Kennedy Center on time. Thank you Peggy! I'll be honest, I had brunch here when they first opened and I wasn't impressed but dinner was perfect, so I'd be willing to give brunch a try again.
My boyfriend and I went here for supper before the ballet at the Kennedy Center because it was so close. The atmosphere is great and the food matched it. Our service was attentive but not intrusive.
I had an excellent cocktail from the bar and he started with a honey crisp apple salad that was prepared so artfully and was delicious. Our main dishes were excellent. I had zucchini risotto and he had salmon. We finished with a delicious dessert!
