Came here on a Saturday night with my wife with a reservation. Right from the start we loved everything at Whaley's. The location, in the new Navy Yard development is beautiful and scenic. The service was prompt and professional. We started with one of the seafood towers that was fresh and delicious. The seafood risotto was a culinary masterpiece, with some truffle shavings on top it was absolutely filled with depth of flavor. We didn't have any alcoholic beverages that day but the sour apple ginger frescas were very delicious. We'll be back for the fresh bar happy hour soon!

Great bar with $1 happy hour oysters that were delicious. Happy hour menu is really great overall. Crudo is fresh and nice. Wine was really nice and staff super friendly. Awesome view of water.

Came for restaurant week. The atmosphere and design of the restaurant is themed around seafood and really well done, and it fits nicely in with the Navy Yards area. The staff service was friendly and attentive.

Dessert was the Key Lime Cheesecake which was light and creamy, but lacked any sort of Key Lime taste.

Overall, a lot of the reviews speak highly of the happy hour ($1 oysters) which I haven't been able to experience. I personally wouldn't come back to Whaley's for dinner. The food itself (besides the entree) was good, but the portions would definitely be too small for the usual accompanying price tag ($$$$) during non-restaurant week.

Chef is incredible - Food and Wine selection is perfect! You missed the Rose Garden but the atmosphere is great!

Interestingly enough, any bit of sailor blood that flows through your hollow veins begins to stir as you gaze upon motor boats and sailboats travelling past. Lovely spot to visit with family.

The main course was the Pan Seared Wahoo over chorizo and beans. This was enormously disappointing as the Wahoo was about the size of my middle and ring finger put together. The Wahoo itself was very light and not too fishy, however I barely got more than 3 bites out of it before it was gone. The underlying chorizo and beans was uninspiring and was both too bland on its own and too overpowering when coupled with the Wahoo.

The standard 3 course restaurant week meal started with with an Arctic Char Crudo. Probably the best plate of the night, the crudo was light and refreshing.

All roads in Washington DC lead to Whaley’s seafood & cocktail bar & salad! It's a place where you dine and enjoy the aesthetically pleasing views of the gorgeous body of water that lies beyond its windows.
