Bar was done up in a fantastic beach theme when I went. Service was great. Cocktails are nicely priced, though nothing to write home about, and the tiny volume of the beer they sell was so ridiculously small we said so to the server, who gave us a bottle of cider to compensate. The beer looks like it's made for children's hands.
Wonderfully unique drink selection. The food is great too! Not cheap but it's dc, what do you expect? A little small, gets a bit cramped during peak hours. Speaking of small, good God the bathroom. Check it out for a good chuckle. Definitely not made for anybody over 5'2".
I did a Google search to find "fun bars in DC" and found Service Bar in an article titled "D.C.'s 26 Essential Bars" -- and it definitely lives up to this title! Service Bar has a fun atmosphere and the staff is very friendly! They had a cute beach set up along with beach chairs, beach bars, and drinks in beach buckets (which were bomb by the way). I see this place as a gem on Ust and would definitely recommend visiting. Oh and the fried chicken is great don't leave without trying it!
Just in terms of drinks, the place is worthy of five stars. They serve some of the best cocktails in dc and have a rotating menu based on other countries. The servers were also friendly and talkative. My main complaint about the place is the small size and lack of seating. My group passed by a few times and were lucky to snipe a table the second time we walked by right as a group was leaving, but for a while it was looking like we were going to need to find a different bar to go to. If you go, you must try the "suffering bastard"
My bartender Saab reguardless of his shirt, was very skilled , friendly and attentive. I gave him 3 of my favorite ingredients and he made me a drink that took me off the barstool. I love this place the atmosphere and music the people. Its a perfect party spot for the kids that normally sit at the cool table. I will be back again and again. STAMP on SERVICE BAR !! Go Immediately!!
