I have seen Doctor Jones for some time with my older pug. He insisted the pug stay on predizone for quite sometime. I explained to Dr. Jones when he prescribes the medicine I could not afford to come monthly for blood draws and would come every three months. I did just that. Today Dr. Jones informed me that I was not "listening to him" and in front of my daughter said I would "cause the dog to die". I honestly thought the man was just going to do blood work to see if the dogs platelet count was better so the pug could stop having to take predizone since it is "dangerous to take long term" anyway. I actually asked him to take the pug off the predizone during the last visit but Dr. Jones insisted on keeping the pug on the predizone claiming his platelet count was still a "bit low". I did what I was told. My goal today was to do the blood work as advised and get the pug on a daily pain regiment that is safer than predizone. BUT Dr. Jones just looked at my daughter and I and said we were not doing what he asked me to and to "never ask for him to see any of your animals again". His attitude and demeanor were out of line especially in front of a child. The pug has been on predizone for over a year and never had he had a problem before with us coming in for blood draw every three months. The man refused to treat a dog brought to his office today with a visible limp. That was just wrong. I do not owe Dr. Jones or Rose Hill a time and yet I have spent over $1,000 dollars alone in the last year on my pug at this office. My intentions are to clearly care for my dog to the best of my ability! I do look forward to finding out what a new vet in Bristow hast to say about my dog this coming Tuesday. I feel Dr. Jones was disrespectful and out of line with his tone of voice and implication today and would warn others that he pushes for treatments that I feel other vets would not push, including the owner of the vet itself.
