I had the pleasure of working with Karma Home Designs recently, and I have to say, that it was a great experience. They were extremely professional, dedicated and knowledgeable about every question that I had. Not to mention, I never had to worry about any lack of response. Any question I had would immediately be answered, even after what I would consider to be "office hours." We wanted to redo our kitchen in Northern Virginia and get some other bathroom and basement home renovations done and they have made this process incredibly easy for me. Everything was carefully explained to me and finished right when they said it would be done. I can't recommend them enough!
Extremely poor. Having to hire various handymen to fix multiple plumbing and electrical issues only 2 years later is 110% ridiculous! When a professional states that the work looks like a "quick turnaround job" and that this "couldn't have been approved by an inspector" you know something is wrong.
KHD did a major two-story front addition remodel/rebuild and we couldn't be happier! The whole team was a pleasure to work with and they will meet you where you are (whether you want to be hands off with your project or in the thick of it). They are fairly busy, so our project sometimes lost some momentum prior to the actual build, but we are equally to blame for long lags in our replies to their emails. Once the build started, the project proceeded more quickly, smoothly, and professionally than any other project we have done with anyone else! We have been thrilled with the end result-- KHD is committed to attention to detail, precision and quality. But above this, our project manager Adam was our advocate and partner in all things. He deserves kudos as he advised us all along the project and as change orders happened (which are bound to happen with any job of this size) he really advocated for us and got us the best result possible. Everyone we came across had a genuine passion and pride in their work. And when things weren't up to Adam's high standards (which was rare because the whole team is highly skilled), he would make them do it again until it was perfect. We have really appreciated Adam's and KHD's honesty, quality, and workmanship. We will definitely use them again for any project large or small. This is the only construction company we trust!
Jordan and his team were/are extremely professional, have great communication skills (flexible communication via email, phone, text, and in-person), and are extremely trustworthy. I even left on vacation (for 2 weeks) while they continued the renovation process - and the work continued without a misstep.
The materials used and finishes were wonderful - better than I ever expected. Karma completed a full kitchen remodel (complete with new appliances, quartz counter-tops, and lighting), converted a hall closet into a laundry closet (the old washer/dryer were in the kitchen), installed beautiful wood flooring throughout the house, and installed a new stair case (to match the new flooring). All completed on time and within a reasonable budget!
To say that I highly recommend Karma Home Designs would be an understatement. Karma truly is the best in DC (and in the metro area)! Do yourself a favor and hire Jordan and his team!
The renovation process went so smoothly. There were a few hiccups, but Jordan and his team were so prompt and attentive which made for a virtually stress-free process. I am not an easy customer - I have very high expectations. Karma, by far, exceeded my expectations. In a strange way I am grateful that the previous contractor quit... it ended up being good karma for me.
I have worked with Karma on a number of projects. I could not be more impressed. This is a company that truly lives up to their name. They treat their clients to first rate service and results, good Karma all around. I have seen their award winning designs for various bathrooms and kitchens around the DC area, and they are fantastic! They have the specialists and tradesman for any type of job, whether it be an out door living space and a new deck, that addition and finished basement you have always wanted, or a whole home build or remodel. Karma has everyman for the job. The best part about working with Karma is that they are actually located right in DC! Kris, one of the owners has been doing construction in DC for over 20 years, the management at Karma has over 50 years combined. They are true professionals who pride themselves on treating their customer fairly and giving them the results they deserve. it has been a pleasure working with them on several projects and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for great design, quality products, and unbeatable price and value.

I recently bought a home in Alexandria, VA using a 203k loan. Originally, I went with a contractor that was recommended by my realtor, and he BAILED on me!! My realtor's referral left me high and dry, in the middle of the loan process, which put the purchase of my home in jeopardy. Then, after thorough searching, I found Karma - and they came in and saved the day- saved my new home! They picked up right where the previous contractor left off, with the lender's paperwork, and began renovating shortly after my 203k loan closed.
