Great job and very good service great people my kids love them.
Things started off great. I made an emergency appointment same day with them. The dentist and receptionist were great. They mentioned they had reduced hours because one of the dentists was on maternity leave. I appreciated the heads up. I support a woman taking maternity leave. The insurance billed me for my visit even though I thought I was told I'd be covered. And guess what? Capital Kids took care of it for me! How great. So why one star? Because that was the last I heard from them. I called MULTIPLE times to speak to the dentist about follow up. Winona, the receptionist, told me the dentist was either out or busy. Hey--she's covering for the other dentist on maternity leave--I can be flexible and wait. Well, after about four calls over three weeks of being told the dentist would get back to me, I called one last time. Winona knew I was upset that the dentist mustn't have returned my calls (she was surprised the previous time I called that the dentist never got in touch with me). She then placed me on hold. For about 20 minutes. We were then disconnected. I called back several times. Straight to voicemail. I don't give bad reviews unless they are earned. I will now be taking my son to Capitol Hill pediatric dentistry. It is much closer for me and they answered the phone on the first ring.
Dr. Rubin is the best pediatric dentist in the city, the region, possibly the country! Took my very challenging and energetic twins to see her. She was able to give them a thorough exam, cleaning, and even a flossing- which is pretty amazing because if I go near my kids with floss, it all hits the fan. An amazing doctor that your kids will feel comfortable and safe with. In addition, the waiting room is very kid friendly, clean and fun to sit in. The staff is accommodating and warm and allows kids to pick out a prize at the end. Really a great experience all around. Plus they took us on time and stuck to a schedule- always appreciate when our time is taken seriously as well!
Feel free to bring your children here for a complimentary psychological evaluation, and skills assessment. Personally I'd rather go to an expert on teeth rather than psychology for dental needs. The receptionist was very nice.
***UPDATE*** Dr. Rubin reached out to me and apologized for the administrative blunders. She called and emailed me. I appreciate her effort. I told her I'd be willing to give them a try again if my new dentist doesn't work out.
My daughter and I love coming to Capital Kids Dentistry. Dr. Rubin and her team are great with the kids. Such a personal atmosphere, and you can sense how much they care for the patient's overall heath and well -being.
