If you want to take a load off the feet and relax for a little this place is perfect.
This place rocks. The kids were tired of walking and the museums were starting to get really crowded. We stumbled across this place on our way to the national history museum. The kids were able to sit down in the shade and watch the fountain. They also loved looking at all the sculptures.
Nice garden to walk around and see some art sculptures, in October it closes at 5pm, although the website doesn't show it. We spent 15'.
Haven't been there when the ice rink is up but this is a nice quiet little garden with unique sculptures.. Definately a great place to stop and take a break from your busy tour schedule in dc--somewhere you can stop on the way from the capitol to the Washington monument or vice versa.
This outdoor sculpture area is easily missed by all the tourists, but it's a lovely space with a mix of contemporary sculptures, including a Sol Lewitt piece. Cafe and live music add a touch of delight and charm; good place to relax after a long day around the museums.
Had a great experience! Rental fees are reasonable and the grounds are gorgeous. Head over to the Pavilion Cafe for amazing food! Makes a great couples night out or a fun activity with the kids!
