We have been to better fish stores than this "aquarium". It was a bit of a disappointment. Just because something has history behind it is no excuse to not at least try to make it enjoyable.

AWFUL! I think there are like 40 fish tanks. I have seen a better display of fish at Petsmart!! This is a waste of time and money. AND to think that every single museum in DC is FREE and worth the tour! This one costs money and is NOT worth a penny. It was so hot in there! I wanted to warn others coming into the "basement of the building of Commerce" to not go but I thought I would just keep my mouth shut. Is it in the basement of the building of commerce for a joke!!?? Don't go!!!

Change the hours this place has been closed since 2013.

Our experience: painful.

Excellent place if you want to get away for little bit!! I went to the National Aquarium I went there with my family and I really enjoyed the visit. It was relaxing, interesting and educational. The museum is set up to highlight many different types of not only fish, but reptiles and plants. I thought they packed a lot of interesting sights and information into the exhibit. I would definitely recommend this to both local DC people such as myself and tourists.

Small (so you don't get tired) and great displays. Didn't like security we had to practically strip also it was very hard to find during construction. I hope someday they can have it in its very own building and expand a little.

The tanks were small and up way too high for kids to even see in at all. For anyone 5 and under, you can't really see anything at all. This place should just be free or should deliver something better for that kind of admission price.
